Cassidy's History: 40 years before the formation of W.I.T.C.H., five other Guardians were chosen from Earth-Cassidy, Halinor, Yan Lin, Kadma and Nerissa. (As Hay Lin stated, their first initials spelled out C.H.Y.K.N.) Originally the Guardian of Water, Cassidy was entrusted with the Heart of Kandrakar when it was discovered that the powers of the Heart were corrupting Nerissa. The former Guardian, obsessed with the power that was lost to her, pleaded and then demanded the Heart back from Cassidy, who refused. Enraged, Nerissa killed Cassidy because of it and she was buried on Mount Thanos, where Nerissa eventually was imprisoned.
Years later, during the time the current Guardians were battling her, Nerissa brought Cassidy’s spirit back to the mortal world and attempted to entice her by saying she would bring her back to life by reminding her of all her favorite things that she wanted to do, and her dreams that she could recapture. Content with how she had lived her life, prior until Nerissa had killed her at least, Cassidy refused and didn’t trust her old friend. Finally, Cassidy’s will was broken when she’d seen her mother Emily and heard that she’d been missed terribly. Once Cassidy said that she wanted to live again, Nerissa promised her that only after she’d helped her destroy the Guardians and took control of her mind.
Cassidy remained under Nerissa’s mind control until after C.H.Y.K.N. was reformed. Then, she was brought back to life and her Guardian abilities fully restored to her. During a battle with W.I.T.C.H. Irma used the school’s swimming pool as well as her own mind control abilities to completely free Cassidy and the former Guardians from Nerissa’s mind control. Unfortunately, Nerissa wasn’t about to allow her former friends to go free since they had promised their loyalty to her; she encased Cassidy and the others inside the Seal of Nerissa, and they remained there even after Nerissa herself was trapped inside her own Seal by Phobos but they were freed when the threat of Cedric was ended. Cassidy was allowed to live her life once again and was reunited with her mother. (In the W.I.T.C.H. comic book series Cassidy wasn’t brought back to life but did appear to Will in spirit form and entrusted her with the Star of Cassidy, shaped to look like the Heart of Kandrakar; Will had been born under that same star as mentioned in the comics.)
Cassidy's Personality: Cassidy once lived in a house in Heatherfield with her mother Emily; the two of them were very close. She also enjoys swimming and was a part of the Sheffield swimming team which had been called the Sheffield Sea Slugs. Cassidy said that Seashell Bay was her favorite place in town to go to. She also likes walking on the ocean, cute boys and swimming. Cassidy’s dream is to become a doctor, specifically a pediatrician since she likes and respects all living things. She also had a close relationship with Nerissa before the latter had become corrupted by the power of the Heart.
Cassidy's Abilities: Cassidy’s abilities are linked to the power of water much like Irma after her years later. She can manipulate water at will and also has the power of mind control like Irma does, meaning whatever she wants someone to do, she mentally has to think what they should do.
